Bryant wrapped up 3 weeks of work travel with a stay in Madrid, and I was lucky enough to join him for the weekend! We had a blast seeing the highlights in the company of my friend, Laura, who drove down from Valladolid. Her daughter is studying engineering there so we met up with her as well. It was short but sweet and we really made the most of the longer hours of daylight. Our stay at Hotel Suecia was charming and comfortable, with a touch of mystery to keep it interesting. We were surprised how well the secret terrace and “clandestine” bar were kept under wraps. We enjoyed our visit to the Thyssen museum but what really caught our attention there was the upcoming IKEA exhibit, IKEA and the art of the home. Seems like quite a prestigious venue for IKEA! And then Bryant stayed to work at IKEA Madrid during the week and made another funny connection… this time to Visby! It says “Gotland: the beauty of life on an island”
